Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
